JOB VACANCY-YOGA TEACHER AT THE EMBASSY OF INDIA, ALGIERS

The Embassy of India in Algeria invites applications for a qualified and experienced Part-Time Yoga Instructor to conduct yoga sessions for enthusiasts of various skill levels.

A. Work Profile:

  1. Conducting regular yoga classes as scheduled by the Embassy, in English, Arabic, and French, as well as visiting and coordinating with yoga institutions and universities for promotion of yoga in Algeria.

  2. Maintaining records of participants, discipline in the class, gathering feedback, and contributing to improve the quality and outreach of yoga-related activities.

  3. Preparing students for performances on request

  4. Organizing and participating in cultural outreach events and festivals hosted by the Embassy, particularly those promoting Indian traditions, wellness, and heritage.

  5. Delivering workshops, demonstrations, and lectures on the philosophy and health benefits of yoga and its connection to Indian culture.

  6. Supporting the Embassy’s initiatives during International Day of Yoga and other significant Indian cultural celebrations.

  7. Collaborating with local cultural and wellness organizations to host joint events, fostering cross-cultural understanding.

  8. Preparing and sharing educational content on yoga (including short videos, articles, or social media posts) to raise awareness and engagement online.

  9. Assisting in curating yoga-based cultural displays or exhibits during Embassy events.

  10. Providing guidance and assistance in organizing short-term yoga courses or certification programs in collaboration with Indian yoga institutions.

  11. Any other work assigned from time to time.

B. Qualifications/Eligibility:•Citizen of Algeria or NRI with a valid work permit

• Age Limit: 25–50 years.
• 3-year degree with at least 3 years of experience, or a 2-year diploma/certificate in Yoga with at least 4 years of experience from a                     recognised institution or Guru.
• Proven experience teaching yoga to individuals of various skill levels
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of English, Arabic & French languages

C. Desirable Qualifications:

• Ability to use computers for recording, uploading and managing audio-visual content.

• Experience of conducting workshops, demonstrations or public sessions.

• Ability to support cultural programmes and Embassy outreach activities.

• knowledge of the Indian culture and history, philosophy, and traditions related to Yoga 

D. Engagement Terms:

•Contractual engagement for six (6) months which can be extended further on the basis of  performance and approval.

•Honorarium will be paid according to the approved rates and actual hours taught.

•The role does not include additional allowances or benefits.

E. Remuneration:

Remuneration would be paid on an honorarium basis @  US $ 480 per month (total 12 classes of 1 hour each/3 days per week on a monthly basis)
