  • A virtual Buyer Seller Meet was organized by Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) ALGEX and the Embassy on 23 June 2021, aimed at enhanced India-Algeria cooperation in agro-sector.

  • The Embassy of India in Algeria celebrated International Day of Yoga 2021 on 20.06.2021 in the lawns of the Embassy.

  • Ambassador Gaurav Ahluwalia, presented his Letter of Credentials from Rashtrapatiji to President of Algeria H.E. Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

  • Mr. Gaurav Ahluwalia, presented Rashtrapatijis message to Foreign Minister H.E. Sabri Boukadoum and assumed charge as Ambassador of India to Algeria.

  • Ambassador Gaurav Ahluwalia, had an engaging conversation with Minister of Energy Transition and Renewable Energy Mr. Chems Eddine Chitour, on 4 May 2021.

  • Deeply saddened to learn about demise of Shri Madhu Raghavan Pillai on 1 June. He retired from Algeria in February 2021. Ambassador Gaurav Ahluwalia and colleagues held a condolence meet at the Embassy to recall his life and his rich, diverse contributions to Government of India.

The diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in 1962, the year Algeria gained independence from the colonial rule.  The Embassy is situated in a rented building near the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, Embassy of Austria, the Department of Energy (Government of Algeria)
