Celebration of 80th Independence Day (15 August  2026

Members of the Indian Community and a cross - section of Algerian nationals celebrated 80th Independence Day of India with great enthusiasm in Algeria. More than 120 members of the Indian diaspora and friends of India participated in the celebration at the Embassy.

The event commenced with singing of Vande Mataram, unfurling of the national flag by Ambassador Dr. Swati Vijay Kulkarni, which was followed by rendition of national anthem. Ambassador read out the excerpts from   Hon’ble Rashtrapati ji's address to the Nation on the eve of the Independence Day.

The top scores of Bharat ko Janiya Quiz 2026 from Algeria was congratulated, Ms. Djamila Melizi and Selma Hind Berimi, tokens of  appreciation were handed over to them by the Ambassador after unfurling ceremony.

Indian refreshments were served at the end.
