Celebration of Constitution Day-2025
On the occasion of Constitution Day-2025, Ambassador Dr. Swati V. Kulkarni, led Embassy officials in reading the Preamble to the Constitution of India on 26 November 2025, reaffirming commitment to uphold its guiding values.
The Embassy also hosted a special event to commemorate Constitution Day. The event was attended by Mr. Osmane Fouad, Chairman of the India–Algeria Parliamentary Friendship Group & representative of H.E. Mr. Ibrahim Boughali, Speaker of the People’s National Assembly; Mr Rabah Baghali, Vice President of the Council of the Nation & representative of H.E. Mr. Azouz Nasri, Speaker; Mr. Abib Yacine, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee; and Mr. Ferhati Riad, representative of the Secretary General of National Liberation Front party.
Senior officials, diplomats, academics, journalists, and members of the Indian community also joined.
The program featured the singing of India’s National Song ‘Vande Mataram’, a photo exhibition, and screening of a documentary on the Indian Constitution.
Mr. Fouad conveyed a message on behalf of Speaker Mr. Boughali, underscoring shared constitutional values, thanking India for its initiative to include the African Union in the G20 in 2023, and highlighting deepening bilateral cooperation for the Global South.
Mr. Kamel Mansari, Editor-in-Chief of Algerian news portal Le Juene Independant, reflected on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s contributions and the Constitution’s success in uniting India’s vast diversity.
