                           Subject: Visit of Indian Minister for Commerce and Industry to Algiers May 25-27, 2015

            H.E Mrs Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry of Republic of India will visit Algeria from 25 to 27 May 2015 to Chair the 9th Session of India-Algeria Joint Commission Meeting. H.E. Mr Boudjema Talai, Minister of Transport of People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria will co-Chair the meeting with her. The Joint Commission Meeting will be preceded by Senior Officials Meeting on 25 May 2015 and it is expected that all important matters of mutual interest will be discussed during the Joint Commission Meeting.

She will also jointly inaugurate the Indian Pavilion ‘Salaam Namaste” at the Algerian International Trade Fair 2015 with Hon’ble Prime Minister of Algeria, H.E .Mr Abdelmalek Sellal on 26 May 2015.

India is participating in Algerian International Trade Fair, Algiers to be held from 26 May to 01 June 2015 as “Guest of Honour” country. In this fair,   more than 90 Indian companies will showcase their products in fields of  machinery, tractors, automobile, auto components, tyres and butyl tubes, building and construction, granite, marble, ceramic, food and beverage, irrigation, packaging machinery and products, power transmission, electrical equipment, electronic component, engineering, pharmaceuticals, surgical instruments, and disposables, handicrafts, textiles etc. Two cultural troupes from India- a Puppet group and a Sapera (Snake Charmers) Dance Group of Rajasthan will entertain the public with their artistic performances.
