FIEO brings Multi-Product Indian Business Delegation to Algeria on 8–9 February 2026

A multi-product Indian business delegation led by the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) visited Algeria on 8–9 February 2026, to strengthen bilateral trade ties and foster long-term business partnerships between Indian and Algerian businessmen and investors. This is the second business delegation from India to Algeria in a period of one month. 

The sectors represented in the delegation were industrial bearings and bushings, automotive and industrial components, pharmaceuticals, construction and mining equipment, textiles and garments, brass and metal engineering, foundry and precision machining, animal heath and feed additives, stainless steel sanitary-ware, industrial chemicals, rice milling and agro-processing, chemicals and industrial manufacturing.

Demonstrating the keen interest of the two countries to advance their collaboration in the economic and commercial domain, the B2B interactions were held at the headquarters of the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Algiers. 

The inauguration ceremony was graced by H.E. Dr. Swati Vijay Kulkarni, Ambassador of India to Algeria, Mrs. Sihem Nafaa, Director of Promotion and Support for Economic Exchanges of the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs (MOFA); Mr. Tayeb Chebab, President of Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACI); Mr. Chakib Ismail Kouidri, Director General of CACI and 110 Algerian businessmen besides the 14 Indian delegates. 

Ambassador Dr. Swati Vijay Kulkarni underscored the importance of holding B2B events for enhancing bilateral economic ties. She felicitated both FIEO and CACI to have come forward and organise the fruitful interactions so that new business relationships develop to contribute to the growing bilateral cooperation. Ambassador wished success to all the business representatives from India as well as from Algeria in their prospective commercial dealings.

Mr. Tayeb Chebab, President of the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry highlighted the growing economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, rooted in strong historical ties. He added that both the countries share ambition to further deepen and expand their economic partnership. He said that India is a strategic partner and that the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is committed to strengthening trade and investment ties through new initiatives and partnerships. 

Mrs. Sihem Nafaa, Director of Promotion and Support for Economic Exchanges of the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs said that the growing economic cooperation and interest from Algerian and Indian businesses is the reinforcement of the long standing historical friendship of both the countries. She invited Indian participants to explore Algeria’s economic potential and investment opportunities, emphasizing its strategic location, large market access, infrastructure, and supportive legal framework for value-added partnerships.

Mr. Manish Sharma, Joint Director of the Federation of Indian Export Organisations gave a brief background of his organisation and appreciated the strategic Algerian market which is “Gateway to Africa”. He emphasized that Indian companies offer quality products, competitive pricing and technology backed by a strong manufacturing base and globally accepted standards. He assured the Algerian participants of facilitation of quick redressal of any dispute, if it arises.

The strong political relations enjoyed by both the countries are manifested in their commercial ties as well. Algeria has introduced new investment and import regulations improving the business aspects for the foreign companies. Benefiting from the growing bilateral relations, Indian traders and investors are looking at the Algerian market for their future exports and investments. B2B interactions are the first step of initiating the partnerships. The Indian delegates are convinced of the opportunities in Algeria, and are keen to foster long lasting business relationships with the Algerian enterprises.
