I express my heartfelt gratitude to President Tebboune for his warm welcome and gracious hospitality.
2. It is an honour for me to be paying this first-ever Presidential visit from India to Algeria. This first-ever in-coming visit is even more special as President Tebboune begins his second term. I am accompanied by our Minister of State Shri Sukanata Majumdar and Members of Parliament Shri Mukeshkumar Dala and Shri Atul Garg. I am also accompanied by a Business delegation.
3. This is a historic day in India-Algeria relations.I congratulate President Tebboune on his recent re-election. His vision of "Nouvelle Algérie” is praiseworthy. India and Algeria have a shared history of struggle against colonialism and are united in our aspiration to bring prosperity for our people.
4. Today, I held wide ranging talks with President Tebboune. I reassured Mr. President of India’s continued support to Algeria, and we both committed ourselves to take our relations to a higher level, with special focus on trade and investment. I took the opportunity to re-affirm India’s strong commitment to Africa as well.The India-Algeria Business Forum scheduled to be held later today will take stock of the ongoing projects and identify several initiatives to give new direction to our economic and commercial cooperation.
5. I thank President Tebboune for his stellar leadership, personal attention and valuable support for our bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
